Abstract
The present investigation aims to explore a topic of great importance for the training of students in the social work technician specialty within technical and professional education.
It highlights the urgent need to establish a foundation for the development of scientific-investigative skills in students of this specialty, considering it a social issue that requires science and technology for its solution.
The study had an explanatory approach and adopted the dialectical-materialist method. To develop the research process, a bibliographic review was conducted using databases such as SciELO and Google Scholar, focusing on the formation of scientific-investigative skills, as well as the definitions of science and technology and their interrelation.
For the search strategy, keyword combinations such as training, scientific-investigative skills, social work, science, and technology were employed. Additionally, the professional model of the specialty and subject programs were analyzed to assess how the development of scientific-investigative skills had been addressed.
This analysis provided the necessary information to respond to the research problem, demonstrating the potential of science and technology in shaping scientific-investigative skills in future professionals, in alignment with the demands of the current context.
